52 Weeks of Me - Focus on the Eyes (3/52)
>> Sunday, January 16, 2011
Cara's list of themes is only getting harder! I knew that I wanted a single eye shot when I saw the theme and I knew it was going to be a challenge. Lately I have had this love of shooting wide open and I wanted to try and shoot my eye the same way (f2 on this one). I had a lot of fails but this was close lol :) I also liked the way it looked b/w rather than in color. Looks like I need a good tweeze!
It isn't too late to join Cara and I in the 52 Weeks of Me project! Don't forget to add your self portrait to our flicker group. Next week is Focus on Unusual Elements.

You nailed the focus on your eye - great shot!! Hey, we could pair our two "half faces" together to make a complete face. I chose to photograph the opposite side of myself.
I can join you in needing a good tweeze! LOL I love the speckles in your iris :-)
i truly don't like myself in photos... especially not ones this close up. otherwise, i might consider this project. i always shoot obscurely when i do self-portraits.
had i started younger, i would have done many self-portraits with my photography... back when i was much more pleased with my appearance. oh, well.
it just makes me take more pics of my hubby {as you saw}. =)
your photo is really beautiful. i love the simplicity... the hint of the corner of you mouth, the shadows on your nose... and of course, your beautiful eye. very lovely. you must get told all the time that your eyes are your prettiest feature. i've noticed them in other photos, too.
like that this is in black and white, too. very nice mood.
hey... we both did one eye-shots! i think they are way more interesting than two-eye shots, no? funny thing is, that is the only shot of mr. b that he liked in my post... the one where most of his face is hidden and only one eye is showing.
MEN!
=)
I think you rocked this one Jessie! I love the simplicity of the shot!
Amazing!
I love that you chose to process the shot in B&W. I think it definitely adds something to the photo. You have beautiful eyes.
Beautiful!
It is so hard to nail the focus on the eye and not the lashes, particularly at f2. Great job! :)
This picture makes me wonder what color your eyes are.
I'd be scared to death to see a picture that close of my eyebrow. Probably looks like I let Julia do my tweezing!
Lovely shot lady!
i've got to get with the program so that i can actually post on sunday!!!
I think you did a great job! :) your eye is sharp. :) I was away....so just coming by to comment now. LOL
