The USP Guy

>> Monday, May 31, 2010

Who doesn't see that big brown truck all day long? Violet has started to refer to it as a USP truck rather than the UPS truck which tickles me every time. It isn't that he comes to our house THAT often but everyone gets excited when he does. All 3 girls run to the window to see him and see what he is bringing us. I will admit that I am usually excited to get something new too even though it is normally some sort of wire that my husband orders. Wires. Really? Now when we are driving around and she sees one she will say "What's the USP truck doing here, didn't we just see him at (insert location here)? How is he over here too?" She thinks that there is just 1 even though I explain there are many. Then she says "I've got good eyes don't I mama?" "You sure do Violet" XXOO

I told her that the USP guy was bringing mama a new pair of shoes and she raced to the window to wait. She was disappointed to hear it would be 5-7 business days before they would actually arrive lol :)

Team Up Thursday - Time

>> Thursday, May 27, 2010

Angie and I chose TIME this week as our theme. Angie said she has no time and I would agree. With the party for Matt, school getting out Friday, preschool graduation, teachers gifts still not complete, and play dates almost every day I feel as if I have none this week. Angie has graduations in her neck of the woods as well. Busy, busy, busy! My shot is of our Violet with one of her favorite pieces of jewelry - her Tinkerbell watch. This wasn't even a gift for her it was for Piper but Piper never really loved Tink the way that our Violet does. It is a piece that we only let her use once in awhile b/c it gets lost very easily and I know that when she gets a little bit older and learns to tell time she will appreciate it more than she does right now and I would like it to still be around and working when that time comes.

I can't get Simon and Garfunkel out of my head! Make it stop! Time for next week's theme :)

Surprise!!

>> Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Someone is turning 40 next week. I knew if I mentioned doing anything for it he would say no so I threw him a little surprise party. It was sort of a bummer I couldn't let the girls in on the whole thing but lets face it they couldn't keep a secret. They were as surprised as hubs! Now they want surprise birthday parties as well :)

As we were walking in he kept saying "Don't go in there, there is a party in there" - Um yeah, yours.

It was such a fun time catching up with friends, some that we haven't seen in a long time! Now that many of us have kids it was neat seeing them all hanging out and playing together. Good friends, pizza, beer, and cake. Doesn't that sound like a perfect night?

I had issues with the frosting. I decided to crush oreos in the food processor so that we all wouldn't end up with black teeth. What I didn't foresee was that the cookies would keep clogging up my tips while I was trying to pipe the frosting out. It doesn't look horrible but it doesn't look really good either. The frosting with oreos was rather tasty though.

Finally the family. The girls were still on a HUGE sugar rush from the cupcakes and it took quite a little while to calm them down when we got home. They were wearing different clothes when I left the house as well. When I saw them get out of the truck with Piper's hair all messed up and mismatched clothes and Violet's hair snarled b/c she was probably trying to brush do it herself I almost said something but then just decided it didn't matter. We just will never be that perfect put together family.

Because I didn't have the camera in my own hands at all I didn't get pictures of all of our guests so I will put what I have on Facebook and tag those that I have. They will love it I am sure :)

Team Up Thursday - Hot & Cold

>> Thursday, May 20, 2010

I love Angie's interpretation. I mean "Yum, ice cream". My girls even said it a minute ago when they came walking in the kitchen for milk. I went with HOT chocolate. Mine is a favorite winter treat of our family, the girls get giddy when I make it. I was going for steam but it just wouldn't happen for me so I had to compromise and take a different shot.

I heart faces - Flower Child

>> Monday, May 17, 2010

I used this shot of Violet as one of my 365 project last month. I seriously have to upload some pictures for that btw. The girls LOVE dandelions and pick them all the time. We don't have a ton in our yard but this spring our neighbors did so we got bouquets often.

How are those resolutions working out for ya?

Back in January I decided along with millions (at least) of other people to make some resolutions this year. How are they going? Honesty I could be doing better.

1. I am really trying to be a nicer person but we have all this construction on our road and people are just idiots when they feel that they HAVE to get home 1.5 minutes earlier so they block intersections and cut cars off. Makes me CRAZY but all in a silent road rage b/c I don't want my girls to see me get angry about it. I don't feel nice b/c I have all these bad thoughts and curse words that I say inside of my head so I think it still counts as me being mean. All in all I haven't yelled at a stranger yet this year though. The school year hasn't started yet and there is that tool of a receptionist but I will try to be on my best behavior :) Matt will tell you I am a joy to be around at home though lol :)

2. I haven't picked up a knitting needle yet! I guess this is why knitting finds it's way onto my list each year. This one I struggle with b/c I REALLY want to learn but I can't find the time to shower most days. The year isn't over yet.

3. Training to run that 1/2 marathon isn't quite on target but I have some time. I just got back running last week but am still having to do it with the triple stroller and I had wanted to do it alone. I will take what I can get though and continue. After not running for almost 2 months I am revisiting the C25K again and might do another one of those in a month or so.

Let's see how the next few months go...

Team Up Thursday - MOM

>> Thursday, May 13, 2010

Still celebrating Mother's Day? I wish I were. Angie and I went with the host's theme again this week. You might see that I am missing a daughter in my shot. I set the tripod up, got my remote, set up next to the window and heard "I can't open my eyes, it is too bright". Our little prima donna. I think that I wore Violet out trying to get a great Mom shot earlier this week b/c even she looks DONE! On the other hand Angie and her girls are beautiful!

Happy belated Mother's Day to each of you!

I heart faces - Celebrating Mom

>> Monday, May 10, 2010

My girls make me feel special all the time. They constantly want to do things for me, make things for me, and love on me. Gives me warm fuzzies. Yesterday I got at least 100 kisses from Piper alone :) Today I asked Violet to take a picture with me. It is rare that I am on the other end of the camera and most of the shots went straight in the trash but Violet just looked so pretty in this one and well I can crop myself almost completely out lol :)

Beans beans the musical fruit...

>> Friday, May 7, 2010

well you know the rest. Ruby's version of our Cinco de Mayo celebration in pictures.

Which bean to pick next, hmmm...

and a kiss for "bessert"

I could have titled this 'Ruby loves beans' b/c she does. I could serve these black beauties up every night and there would be no complaining from her or her sisters. If only I knew 365 recipes of black beans.

Team Up Thursday - Color

>> Thursday, May 6, 2010

I love spring. Summer is by far my favorite season b/c of weather but spring is right up there with everything beginning to bloom. Such a gift after winter. The farmer's markets have started and normally there is at least 1 flower vendor there. It is hard to walk by those flowers without pulling out that $10 and buying a bouquet. Tuesday I was driving by and HAD to stop. I don't do this as much as I should for myself b/c honestly it makes me so happy to see the lovely bouquet sitting in our living room. The girls think it is cool too :) Angie's inspiration was sitting in front of her as it always is. She is a phenomenal artist. Color is in her everyday life. I love her shot b/c it is so personal.

Wordful Wednesday - Cool Down

>> Wednesday, May 5, 2010

There are people already going swimming in the lake but I didn't feel like it on Sunday so we turned on our sprinklers and let the girls run. Where was Ruby when all this fun was going on? She didn't care for the sprinklers much but thought it was a lot of fun running away from Daddy. So while I was playing with the girls in the sprinklers she was running around our yard. I got drenched! Piper and Violet thought that was pretty funny that mama went in the sprinklers in her clothes.

Check out the tongues in this one. Yeah, they are sisters :)

My show me the love shot of the day :)

XXOO!!

>> Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Last night I was putting Piper down to bed and we were talking.
"I just love kissing you mama"
"I love kissing you too Piper"
"I am going to kiss you every day. EVEN when I get older I am going to kiss you every day"
Oh gosh, I hope so!
"That makes me very happy baby"
Out of the blue from Violet
"I will hug you"
LOL! Such different little girls.

"Smile Piper"
"Please Smile Piper"
"You know you want to"
"Fine, just look this way"
