Team Up Thursday - Panning

>> Thursday, May 26, 2011

OMGosh this was harder than I ever thought it would be. I took about 50 shots or so of Piper going down the hill on her scooter and this was the one I chose. There were others that had ok focus but I loved the look on her face. This was taken earlier in the day and it was so light so I did some heavy post processing to try and attempt normal. Angie went with a rabbit. That woman is awesome! I could tell my subject to do it over and over again but a rabbit? Wow!

Team Up Thursday - Light

>> Thursday, May 19, 2011

Angie's shot is great. I have attempted those action light photographs but haven't quite got the result I was looking for. Her daughter Abby helped her out. See the name (it's backwards but there). Yay Angie for an amazing job! Mine are just a row of candles that I took the light out of. I guess it is my moodiness right now coming through.

Team Up Thursday - LOUD

>> Thursday, May 5, 2011

I laughed at Angie's interpretation of loud. Teenagers. Loud music and, oh wait, did I mention that Angie is also teaching her to drive? A glimpse into my future :) Mine is the loudest kid in the house. She screamed so loud the other day (happily) at the grocery store that a worker came out from the freezer to see what was wrong. Nothing, I ignore it if she is happy. She was surprised when I asked her to actually scream because normally I am telling her not to. She just tickles me like crazy.

Really Loud!
and after she was done she thought it was pretty funny

smile
and decided to scream some more :)

Team Up Thursday - Unexpected

>> Thursday, April 28, 2011

What's that? Well it is the unexpected from Angie and I. I know you see hers. Pretty polish. I know that I don't have time to do this and I know with her busy schedule neither does she so what an unexpected surprise to have her nails painted for her team up? After a busy weekend the girls and I went to the grocery store on Monday morning and when we walked into the store the manager asked if we would like an Easter lily. Seriously I asked "Why?" and he was all "It is not Easter anymore so we are giving them away." Yet another unexpected surprise! Smell that? No? It is my lily that I have sitting next to my computer so that I can enjoy their beauty and scent.

Team Up Thursday - Yellow

>> Thursday, April 21, 2011

There is this blog that I visit where everything is yellow and happy. Then you come here to my black blog lol :) The days have surely been sunny and warm down here and we are done with most of our spring yard work. We finally got the pine straw down in our natural area and flower beds. Veggie garden is in and I am counting down the 80 or so days until our family can enjoy what we grew. The girls and I headed to our local home improvement store and picked up some flowers that we still need to get in the pots out back. These marigolds were what Piper picked. Our family has been drinking a ton of water since the beginning of the year. I don't buy juice at all anymore. When Angie's shot came through my email I immediately got thirsty. Nothing like a tall glass of water with lemon.

Team Up Thursday - Direction

>> Thursday, April 14, 2011

I did participate last week in the TUT project with Angie but didn't post. I think I am sort of burned out with blogging. I am going to try to get back to it but most days I pop on the computer for a few minutes then Ruby needs me for something. I read blogs with my Google reader so I am keeping up! Anyway, this week's theme is direction and as you can see by the sign at Angie's ranch you need to take a left right now. I love it! Mine is the main road by our home that has had construction for what seems like years. I think it might be years but I can't say for sure because A. I am too lazy to look it up and B. You know when you live with something and it seems like it is taking FOREVAH but is only like a few months? Well that is this project.

Direction

I have to sit in that traffic EVERY DAY! Yep, that was all caps!

Team Up Thursday - Old

>> Thursday, March 31, 2011

Angie and I decided on OLD this week in honor of 2011 being the year that we are both 40 years young. That is her Mother's bracelet and I just think it is beautiful. I love cameos and have one downstairs that I got years ago. Mine is my Great Grandmother's bible. My Great Grandfather got it for her on their 30th anniversary back in 1951. I feel lucky to have it. I wasn't sure how I wanted to capture it and tried a few things but decided to go with a verse that I like. It is my reminder that He is listening. I prayed a lot after my miscarriage in November and I know that He heard me and although I wish it were more quickly is healing my broken heart.

Team Up Thursday - Spring

>> Thursday, March 24, 2011

It might say March on the calendar but the south has been unseasonably hot lately. I had to go out and water :) Angie's flowers are starting to bloom like ours. What a nice sight after winter. Every time I post about tulips I have to add that they are my favorite flower. Any color or any size. We have 3 spots of these little purple tulips and I'll give you 1 guess on who loves them the most out of the girls. If you guessed our Violet you were right. She ooohs and ahhhs over them all the time.

Spring!

Will there be lots of spring flowers this week in the team ups? Check them out at Melody's and Megan's.

Are you a small business person or maybe you have been thinking about starting a photography business? I have a giveaway for 50 custom printed brochures that I just posted about. It is a quick one and ends Saturday night. Very low entries! I have used UPrinting and have been very pleased with them.

Team Up Thursday - Music

>> Thursday, March 17, 2011

My husband asked me why I hadn't posted anything this week. I started to but then fizzled. It has been one of those weeks. Angie's shot of her daughter is what I imagine most homes with teens would be like. Heck, even the girls listen to our little Shuffle when we are out walking. I loaded Taylor Swift, Barenaked Ladies, and Adam Lambert for them to enjoy. Mine is Violet practicing her violin. It is her own beautiful music.

Team Up Thursday - Upside Down

>> Thursday, March 10, 2011

Wait, it's only Thursday? What the heck am I doing in one of my Team Up Thursdays? Let me explain. I forgot about my TUT until I got an email from Angie today and realized "Oh yeah, it is Wednesday isn't it?" The girls were in their rooms whining cleaning so I couldn't use them. What was I to do? A few things I noticed when I looked at these online. My husband might be right when he says I wear low cut shirts. Nursing has it's benefits doesn't it? Everyone will get to see me in my new skinny jeans. Yes, this almost 40 year old mama bought a pair a few weeks ago. They were on clearance at Target and fit. I am what, only 3 years behind that trend which is probably why they were on clearance. This is also the first shot of me after I colored my hair. Can you tell the difference? It could have gone bad. The other day when I was at Target (I seriously don't go there that much I swear) I had a Target coupon for a Loreal color and a Loreal coupon so I used them together on a clearance color and got it for free. Now, I was sort of yelling at myself when I was out in the car saying "Come on Jessie, spend a few bucks on the color" but I already had it in my bag so I went home and tried it out. It is a little lighter but not even my husband could tell so that little gray in the front is gone for another few weeks. The downside to that story is that I got some on the walls in my bathroom and can't get it off. I wiped it down when I saw I had done it but the color changed and now my bathroom has to be repainted. I might have to do this myself because hubs to do list is a mile long and we don't see him as it is. Angie's doggie's name is Molly McBeagle, don't you just want to die from that cuteness but wait there is more just check out this shot! I love it! How sweet is that little face? From laying upside down to take 5 pictures of myself I can't imagine how much blood is in Molly's head because I was a little dizzy when I got up :)

Team Up Thursday - Everyday Beauty

>> Thursday, March 3, 2011

What a great theme! It is everywhere if we look and I am so excited to see what everyone who is following along with our wonderful hostesses contributes this week. Angie clearly lives in one of the most beautiful places on earth I have seen. I have only driven through Texas on our way from CA to NC and then visited Fort Worth but neither time did I ever see what she shows in her photographs each week. My shot was taken last week (I think) and it is a weed that grows in our yard. Violet loves these "flowers". She comments on the yards that have them when we are out walking.

Everyday Beauty

Speaking of our Violet. Her photo that I took is in the running to win $100 but I need some tweets. You can only tweet once but if you have an account I would SO appreciate it! All you would need to tweet is "I vote for #HeartU05". Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Team Up Thursday - Blue

>> Thursday, February 17, 2011

Just look at that gorgeous blue sky that Angie captured. The other day I was out walking and looked up and it just wasn't the blue sky I would have hoped for a team up shot. Truth be told I took this shot of Piper after Daisy Scouts at 5 something on Wednesday afternoon so this week I was under the wire for sure. Looking at my beautiful blue eyed girl I can't believe I was even thinking about shooting the sky. I had to take Violet back to the doctor today because she is still crying out at night about her ears. Seems that the right one which was initially horrible is healing but the left is getting worse. She still only complains about the right one but a friend mentioned she might not be able to tell exactly where the pain is only that it is painful. So life has been crazy around here. That is also my lame excuse (and apology) for not visiting any blogs this week. Hopefully things will slow down next week.

BLUE!

Team Up Thursday - Celebration

>> Thursday, February 10, 2011

The mama's behind Team Up Thursday are celebrating big this week. TUT is 1 year old. Yay Megan & Melody! Angie's husband turned the big 40 something that is coming for me faster than I would like it to. I keep seeing shots of kids blowing heart shaped confetti so I gave it a go. We are celebrating love this week right? My girl couldn't get it to blow. She's been sick. Violet is sick so she wanted no part of it. Confetti is a mess to clean up, I had forgotten.

Team Up Thursday - Behind

>> Thursday, February 3, 2011

Quick post because I am actually writing this late Wednesday night and Ruby wants to go to bed. That being said I do too :) Angie's shot is totally representative of me this month as well. In my mind it is still January but unfortunately the calendar keeps on going. I was not ready for February but it came quickly. This week I could not wrap my head around this theme. I struggled with it. As the kids and I walked everyday I thought of different ways to interpret "behind" but I came up blank most times. What I ended up picking was a shot of Ruby on a day she was feeling better being a little piggy behind the bars of a favorite chair of mine.

Team Up Thursday - Stacked

>> Thursday, January 27, 2011

I can never let a good thing alone. When I saw my stack of quarters I was bored *yawn* so I played, and I played, and I applied an action, then played some more. Step away from the PS Jessie! There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original it was just, like I said, boring. I love seeing what other people read and what interests them and Angie's shot this week gives us a glimpse into what she reaches for. I have not read a whole book in a few years now so I do not know one of those titles. After I get the girls down I over edit pictures and blog or visit blogs. Maybe I should read a book, hmmm.

Team Up Thursday - Black and White

>> Thursday, January 20, 2011

How funny is it that Angie and I both came up with unprocessed black and white shots? Her's could not be more black and white :) How cute is her cat? On a cow rug? I bought some roses the other day at the store. They were on clearance :) Such would be me - cheap. I chose this shot because I loved how simple it was.

Team Up Thursday - ALL IN A ROW

>> Thursday, January 13, 2011

This is our first TUT of the new year. Angie was sick last week and I totally spaced that we might even have had it :) We are back though and ready for a fun new year of team ups. When I saw this week's theme I knew exactly what I would do for it. I am sort of cliche that way. Angie's is cool. I don't ever see that line of buses because I am home waiting for ours to bring Piper to us. I love her interpretation this week a lot!

Team Up Thursday - December

>> Thursday, December 16, 2010

Where has the year gone? 9 days until Christmas, 15 until Violet's birthday, and then it all starts again. Every December we get out our tiny but well loved Christmas tree. I long for a real one but honestly I would probably end up forgetting to water it and it would be a disaster. Ruby is the 3rd baby to pick the ornaments off our little tree. I have learned to put all of the unbreakable ones low so that when she does grab them it isn't a big deal. I try to get a picture of our tree every year and this year when I went to get it she was off course picking something off. Someday when I have my perfect tree back I am going to miss this.

What a beautiful cross that Angie has captured. I can't wait to read the story behind it on her blog :)

Team Up Thursday - Words

>> Thursday, December 9, 2010

It was nice to participate in a TUT challenge again. Hope. My heart is beginning to heal. A little. The other night my husband and I talked about our family. Nothing major, just talking. Neither of us know what to do at this point. I wish I had more time to decide but my age is against us. Although I am filled with emotion looking at the picture I took Angie's makes me smile and look forward to Christmas a little more. Her lighting is beautiful. We are a colored light family but some years I think about getting white JUST to photograph our tree. I still can't believe how similar our shots are - we never do that lol :)

Team Up Thursday - Orange

>> Thursday, November 4, 2010

I love orange. Love it! I can't wait to see what everyone who participates along with Team Up Thursday come up with :) Angie sent me a shot of a sign that hangs in her barn. If it wasn't raining yesterday that was going to be my shot as well. The sign I was eyeing said "End Road Work" and if you know me personally you know we have been dealing with road work for at least a year now. But it was raining so I had to figure something else out :) Wouldn't that have been funny though? Piper helped to decide on using the pumpkin she got on her first field trip with her Kindergarten class. Violet chose the picture that I laid a mirror under. Ruby just wanted to sit on my lap. Family project.
