What are they thinking?

>> Thursday, July 31, 2008

Sometimes I wish that I knew. I was trying to get a "good" picture of the girls together (I know wishful thinking) b/c they both decided that they HAD to wear their rain boots and I thought it would make a cute blog post. It hasn't rained here in quite some time but I said they could wear them b/c it just isn't worth a fight. This was one of the shots that I got of them - do you think that I was wearing them out with taking pictures? BTW I never did get that perfect shot, guess I will try again next time.

A room of her very own?

>> Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Piper has been doing so great with her own little mattress pushed up to our bed and we have been thinking that maybe it is time for our little bird to leave the nest and have her own space. When I say her own space I mean still in the same room as us but maybe her mattress NOT touching ours anymore. "What about her own room?" asked a friend today. She made the idea sound so awesome and Piper would be the one to pick out her decorations and room color. Well, now I sit here and I am not so sure that mama's ready kwim? She has been with us since she was born, I know it is time but my heart is going to break I just know it is. We still have Violet with us but how long until she wants to leave to be like her big sister? Who knew that being a parent meant letting them grow up :(

BTW, I see her picking a purple room filled with lots of pink and princess stuff *eye roll* - where did this kid come from? I will have to post pictures when we get it done - IF we get it done before she leaves for college. Hi, our name's are Jessie & Matt and we are procrastinators.

The fountains

>> Saturday, July 26, 2008

A little shopping area by us has a common area that in the summer time have fountains that go off and the kiddos can run around in them. It is pretty nice b/c there is a fence around the entire area so you don't have to worry about your children escaping. My girls, like most kids, love water so when my girlfriend asked if I wanted to bring their suits with them I said sure. I had so much fun watching them running around, laughing, and playing with each other. Gosh, to be a kid and just always have that kind of joy would be so awesome! Violet wouldn't run through but she ran around the outside sprayers and still got wet so she was happy. Now Piper, straight through the water. The funny part was that she would close her eyes every time she ran, good thing there weren't many kids there today or she would have crashed into them. Perfect relief for an otherwise boring, hot day.

A band was setting up when we left b/c they have free concerts in that same area at night. Check out our little groupies. They had to know what was going on :)

A new flock of friends

>> Friday, July 25, 2008

The first Christmas after our remodel we decorated the heck out of our house. We hung this cute little wreath but for some reason we have never taken it down. Hmmm, maybe that should be a honey do project for a future Sunday :) Anyway, each year we have birds that have babes in a nice little nest that they have made. One year 1 of the little babes fell out so I was very careful to pick it up with a spatula and put it back in the nest, I have no way of knowing if that little one survived but I like to think that it did. Here is our newest batch of feathered babes, they chirp pretty loud and the girls think it is very cool.

Today at the beach

>> Thursday, July 24, 2008

Today the girls and I went to a little local beach. We got there pretty early so there weren't many people there yet. It was quite a task to get the girls, cooler, towels, toys, and blanket down the 100 stairs to get to the beach :) Both of them had a ball though so it is worth it once in awhile.

Piper was making us "chocolate" and I think that at one point Violet thought it was real - oops. Hopefully we will be able to make it there again b/c both girls and mama took a REALLY nice afternoon nap when we got home - that is how I know they had fun. Now I am totally looking forward to our beach trip in October :)

She learned this from Bryce

>> Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Piper has a friend that will jump off anything and from an early age my little monkey has been a little bit of a daredevil herself sooo put those 2 together and it is trouble. See that froggy toy box in the background? I have been catching her climbing it and jumping from it lately. BTW, I am so proud b/c I found that in the trash and my BIL power washed it for us so it is super clean and it was FREE!! Anyway, last night while cleaning up the playroom before bed she started doing it again so I had to get a shot of it to show Michele what her son has taught my daughter - shame on him :) Lastly, Piper went into her drawers and came out with that shirt and pants - her pajamas she said *rolling eyes*.

She wants to stay 2

>> Wednesday, July 16, 2008

or so she says when you ask her and I wish I could keep her there a little bit longer but unfortunately time goes by quickly and our Piper turned 3 years old yesterday. Where has the time gone? Piper's Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins all made the journey to celebrate with us. We had the party at a local gym where the kiddos got to run around like crazy followed by some yummy cake and ice cream. Piper chose to have a Lilo and Stitch cake and a local mama made if for us. I gave her the choice of cake flavors and lucky us Piper chose chocolate chip, I thought it turned out fabulous!

Look at how much fun this kid had! She ended up with a black and blue eye and then next day we had to go to her doctor b/c she has pink eye (so did Violet) but it was all worth it in the end :)

and finally a family shot, I wish that I would have grabbed my tripod and sat in the picture with my girls but forgot b/c this was taken last minute.

It was a really great weekend!

Bye Bye 4th of July

>> Sunday, July 6, 2008

Wow - it is crazy how busy the past 3 days has been. We stayed up WAAAY to late on Thursday night to see some fireworks put on my our YMCA - to top it off Piper and Violet were bored 1/2 way through and Piper kept asking me to leave. Friday we tried to recover but then on Saturday we attended 2 parties - whew! We didn't even make it until the fireworks at the 2nd party b/c the entire family was just spent. Every one but mama is still sleeping at 8 am if that tells you anything :) Normally my girls are up around 6 am - Piper, Violet, and Daddy all have a little bit of a bug so that might be why too. No pics to share today b/c my camera never made it out of my bag (bad mama!!).

We've been flocked!!

>> Thursday, July 3, 2008

The mommy group that I belong to flocked my family last night - the proceeds from flocking and pickup go to benefit a local children's home. I was making coffee at 6:15 and Piper started yelling about flamingos in our front yard, it made me smile :) She keeps asking to go back out and play with them - who knew that something so small would make our day!

>> Wednesday, July 2, 2008

They aren't really Armor All shoes but for some reason that is what they remind me of irl. Unfortunately both Daddy and Piper love these shoes, sigh.
