Can you tell that she doesn't want the camera in front of her face anymore? Stick a fork in her because baby girl was D.O.N.E. My fault, it was about 32 degrees and I had her outside trying to take her picture. Even more pathetic was her attempt to smile for mama - I'll share that one for my 366 project :)
Baby dug out the heart sunnies the other day. These particular pair are a rarity in our home, they have survived 2 other toddlers and now are being worn by Ruby. I can't believe that they made it past the first day with her but they have and here she is.
Piper is becoming a pretty good reader. Thing is she reads really great but I know that she isn't really comprehending the longer chapter books that she gravitates to. I prefer her to read the easier chapter books that still have a few pictures. With the easier books she can describe the storyline so much more. Am I holding her back?
It has been dreary here for a week. Piper does what she always does when she has extra time - reads. I should have tried to make this shot more cheery since it is a fairy book she is reading but I am starting to let the gloom get to me as well.
How do you choose? The photos I take all mean so much to me and I have my mommy goggles on almost all the time. Don't we all? I ended up choosing this one because I can almost hear her laughing when I look at it. That in between baby and grown up laugh. Contagious.
I was talking to someone about my kids yesterday and she asked me what has been my favorite age so far. That is hard to answer because I love my girls and while some ages are more trying than others they have all been cool for one reason or another. Some ages things just click and life is easy. Other ages you get to see miracles like walking, talking, understanding. My favorite though? Newborn. Give me a little tiny baby. I will take those all night nursing sessions. Cuddling that baby in a wrap and feeling new baby squishiness all day long next to you - bliss. I miss it. So much.
This is my favorite shot that I took of our little Rubarb when she was brand spankin new. It's on my wall and I look at it everyday and it makes my heart swell. Oh to have just that day back would be heaven to me.
We dance at our house. A lot. When it is just her and I most of the time we are ballerinas. We dance until she is tired. Then we watch Elmo and have crackers. It is a beautiful life we have.
Something about Marley that I find absolutely adorable. If there is anything of the girls on the floor in the living room she wants to sleep on it. They were playing barbies and left their stuff in the living room - shocker right? You can sort of tell that Marley is laying on a Snow White outfit. She was pretty annoyed with me taking her picture today because I was taking her away from her 20 hours a day of sleep. The life of a pooch is a rough one.
Our blue eyed girl. Sassy little 6 year old. To Ruby she is "Nana". To Violet a constant playmate this summer. Those are my great grandfather's eyes and he is still with me through her. In my eyes beautiful.
As a wife and mother this shot of my family makes my heart overflow. The patience that my husband showed with the girls last night fishing for the first time with real hooks and hotdogs was incredible. It paid off though because Piper caught her first fish. That baby beamed with pride. Violet didn't catch a fish but she will tell you she did because her bobber was going under but she just couldn't hook it. Much like her mama. I fail miserable at fishing (think tangled line and knots) but since they enjoy it so much it seems I am going to have to learn.
My family surprised me with 2 bouquets of flowers this year for Mother's Day. Each girl picked out a smaller bunch to create 1 big one and then hubs got me another one from him. The lilies smell beautiful. They have completely opened now and their fragrance hits you when you walk in the living room. It makes me want to run out and buy a bunch of lily plants for outside so that I can make my own bouquets next year.
The girls and I were out front where I was trying to get my 52 week selfie and they kept coming into the picture. Hams. We started talking and decided to try hunting for the elusive 4 leaf clover that we are bound and determined to find again some day. This is the best part of motherhood. Enjoying them. I want to hug this picture :)
Our Ruby is go, go, go all the time. When awake she doesn't sit still for a minute. After my shower I went in our bedroom and saw her sleeping so sweetly. I ran and grabbed my camera remembering this week's challenge. Keeping up with 2 older sisters is hard work and she needs a little cat nap to revive herself to run around some more.
I tried to get our chihuahua with her tongue sticking out. Mabel is so horrified by my camera she hides when it comes near her (perhaps due to the fact I dress her up most of the time as well). Marley though isn't done with letting me take her picture. Most of the time she is sleeping so I can take whatever I want. Now when she is awake that is a whole other story :)
Sunday we went to a mall that has The Cheesecake Factory attached to it. We never get to the big city anymore and I thought it was about time we went again, plus you only turn 40 once so eat large! Eat cheesecake! Our girls were terrible at the restaurant. It probably didn't help that we had over a half hour wait but when we were seated Piper broke a plate because she was screwing off, Ruby couldn't stay still and was walking all over the booth, and although she denied she had to at the time I decided that instead of having my food served to me AND THEN having to get up and bring Violet to the bathroom (along with the other 2) we were going to go BEFORE. While we were waiting for our food I couldn't help but notice the table next to us with its large group talking and laughing. Suddenly I wanted to be at THAT table and not yelling at the girls at our table :)
Anything but the face. how about that for a challenge? I chose to photograph my girls knees. The warm weather that we have been experiencing has brought us outdoors again. Looks like they need some practice running, biking, and just generally walking on concrete. I can't believe that it is March 1 and all 3 have skinned knees. It makes me laugh actually.
My Blackberry doesn't take the best pictures so when I saw that this week's challenge at iheartfaces was cell phone I thought I would sit out. Until Saturday that is. Ruby started her nap in bed but then something woke her up. She came out by me and I nursed her for a minute and she was back out so I laid her on the couch. My baby is going to be 2 years old next month but this immediately brought me back to the infancy days and babes sleeping with their bottoms in the air. I almost cried. She is getting so grown up I needed to see that every once in awhile she still is my little babe.
She is full of them that is for sure. This was taken on Monday and we were having a snow day. The girls and I painted our nails, watched some movies, and ate popcorn. Violet was happy and it shows. Even though her mama was totally slack and didn't bring them outside because it was too cold (below 30) and Ruby wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes. Go ahead and call me a slacker, I am wearing my big girl panties :)
