Wordful Wednesday - Top Gear 300 (2011)

I took the girls to the race in town. Piper has been wanting to go for awhile now so it all worked out on Saturday and we went. I left at noon and Ruby was able to catch a nap during out 40 minute ride over to the speedway. I breathed a big sigh when I looked in my mirror and saw her little eyes closed. Our Ruby is a bit of a handful normally but much more so when tired and no matter how you look at it 300 miles is an eternity for a 2 year old.

Violet was enchanted by the blimp and asked no less than 20 questions about it during the race including "Will they take us for a ride?"


GREEN! GREEN! GREEN!


We sat on the end of turn 2. We couldn't see the pits well or the huge new tv that they installed but we were in air conditioning :) I appreciated that on a 95 degree day with 3 littles under 6.

Keeping Ruby entertained


No easy task! She was D.O.N.E. with 30 laps to go but at that point you just have to stay to see how it ends. There wasn't a single wreck and the race wasn't the most exciting. We ate some awesome Bojangles and had some PET ice cream cones. They gave the girls little PET cows and Ruby fell in love with it! Kyle didn't win but we all enjoyed ourselves very much.
